Extremely high dew points produced some quite nice thunderstorms today.. but with a low sheared environment they mostly stayed inland and paralleled the ranges. Surprisingly some of these storms produced some strong winds and also some heavy short duration rainfall.

This thunderstorm developed SW of Boonah and had a very defined precip curtain. The low sheared environment resulted in this storm pulsing to max intensity rapidly but then dying just as quickly all in the space of about 45 minutes. This video was around the time it peaked.

What a great day this day was! We ended up doing close to 400km's but were rewarded with the best storm structure i've seen this year so far! Throughout the day we encountered 90km/h wind gusts.. 2cm hail.. lightning hitting a tree 30m away from the car and torrential rain!
