We will not represent you legally as to the value of your property / contents. The recording services we offer in our Digital Photographic Inventories are in a recording capacity only. All appraisals and valuations are the responsibility of the client. If you have any certified appraisal receipts, etc. we suggest your store them with your completed Aussie Home Inventory in a secure location. How Do I Schedule An Appointment? - Visit our CONTACT US and speak to one of our friendly Inventory Consultants today.
 

Is It Important For My House To Be Tidy Before The Appointment? - We understand that not all people have time to tidy their house prior to an appointment. People are often too busy with other duties. Some people prefer to have all their contents out on display for ease of photography.
 

What Do I Need To Do Before You Arrive At My House? - Prior to the appointment we will need to be aware of the approximate size of your home and any additional collections or contents stored off-site. It will save us time and you money, if items are easy to record and accessible, for example out on the table or bed. If you have documentation to include in the inventory, make sure this is available. The time of inventory will be confirmed two days prior to the appointment and we will ask you for necessary information to ensure the inventory goes as smoothly as possible.
 

How Long Does An Aussie Home Inventory Take? - The minimum time in your house is approximately 3 hours. The time taken depends on a lot of factors such as your total contents and the Inventory Options you choose. We will try to minimise your time away from work or other duties.
 

Do You Access Roof Spaces & Basements? - Roof spaces, basements and hard to get to areas are not normally included in the inventory, unless discussed prior to the inventory visit. Access in all cases must be clear and clean.
 

Are There Any Extra Costs During The Inventory? - You will be made aware of any extra costs due to time on-site, size of recordable contents, etc. before the inventory commences. All prices quoted whilst we are off-site are estimates only as all homes and contents are different and unknown at that time. Other services requested will added to the total cost.
 

What Other Services / Products Do You Offer? - Whilst in your home we offer scanning, copying, printing, laminating and ID tagging. We offer you products that we feel will enhance the safety of your family, home & contents. Please discuss this with us on booking your appointment any extra services and products you are interested in.
 

What is ID Tagging? - We record your drivers licence number onto your electrical and valued items using a UV Marker.
 

What Type Of Media Is My Inventory Stored On And How Can I View It? - Inventory CD's can be viewed on a PC or MAC with standard appropriate software and most DVD players. Your inventory images can always be printed off later at a digital print shop or machine. Complimentary basic slideshow image viewing software is included on the inventory CD. We can store the inventory on DVD if requested.
 

Should I Store A Copy Of The Aussie Home Inventory On My PC? - We recommend you DO NOT copy your inventory images to your PC in case of theft. Your first choice of storage should be off-site and that is why we offer you a secure Off-Site Storage program. If you still wish to store your property inventory on-site then we recommend a fire safe security box as a minimum criteria. Please see our PRODUCTS page.
 


How Will You Help In The Event Of A Claim? - If you have chosen for AHI to have access to your inventory data, then we can submit this to your insurance company on your request. If we have a copy of your records in our off-site safe deposit box and your copy has been destroyed, we can supply you with another copy.
 

What Other Information May Be Useful To Include With An Inventory? - All warranties and receipts will help in substantiating any claim, especially electronic & photographic items, appliances and furniture.
 

I Already Have Insurance. Why Do I Need An Inventory As Well? - So many homes & businesses do not have the correct insurance cover and are often under-insured [see STATISTICS]. This fact is often not found out until a claim is made. Settlements can therefore be less than the replacement value. Our recommendation is that you optimise your insurance to validate you premium payment. Insurance companies are aware that people add items to a claim, weeks if not months after the initial claim, as they remember more valuables. The longer the time between the initial claim and subsequent claims could result in the insurance company being less willing to pay! We are an unbiased third party documenting your property. We have no personal gain in any settlement you may reach with your insurance company.
 

Should I Have An Relocation Inventory Prior To Moving House? - We would recommend you do. Damage may occur in the process of moving / relocation and contents sometimes disappear. You will have a complete record in case of loss. We can update your inventory once you have settled into your new home.
 

Where Do I Stand If I Have No Insurance? We are asked this question often. The answer is you need us to perform a professional digital inventory at once, to assess your insurance cover and create a record in case of loss. Do not wait for a reason to have an inventory carried out. Contact us today.
 

What About My Privacy? - Your privacy is very important to us and we understand your concerns. Anyone entering your home can give you privacy issues. We will take an initial tour of your home with you and encourage your participation in the inventory process. Everyone has their own comfort level and we will be aware of this. How Do I Know My Personal Information & Inventory Data Is Secure? - All of our clients information is strictly confidential. Client contact information is securely stored and a password is used to verify your ID. You will be asked for this password on contacting us. By default we will use the inventory data we collect, for the creation of the inventory only. This data is then deleted from our digital camera & computer. The only time we will keep your inventory data is when you choose to opt for our Off-Site Storage OSS & Annual Update Program AUP This data will be accessed only on request from you, the client. Such a request would be for additional information to be added to the inventory or a copy to be forwarded to the insurance company. We will only keep inventory data for as long as you wish.
 

Does The Annual Update Program Include Any Home Visits? - Not normally as this is designed for you to simply send the extra inventory data to us. We can visit your home to record extra inventory data. This will be an additional cost.
 

What Other Information Does Your Home Inventory Software Record? - Our specialised home inventory software can include database fields such as condition, status, heir, warranty etc. Others can be added. For more information on the full range of database fields please contact us.
 

Can You Supply Me With Information On A Home Security System? - We will put you in touch with a security system supplier.
 

What Do The Authorities Think Of A Home Inventory? - The authorities look on a professional Home Inventory in a favourable way. If you suffer a break-in and have a record of missing contents, you will be able to forward this information quickly and accurately, speeding up the chances of a recovery.
 

Do You Visit Rental Properties And Holiday Homes? - We supply property inventories for all homes and small business. Rental properties, both furnished / unfurnished, holiday homes and storage facilities are all included. For landlords we offer photographic : database and written property inventories with optional a Property Condition Report. For the tenant with or without insurance, a digital photographic record of assets is most useful in the case of theft assisting authorities and helping to eliminate any dispute during the tenancy.
